About Us

Help Me Grow is a no-cost service available to all families in Island County and Washington State. Whether you are pregnant, a caregiver with a baby, or a family with young children through age 8, Help Me Grow is there for you. From questions about your child’s development or behaviors to connecting to services or resources, Help Me Grow works with you to help you get what you need so your children and family can thrive.

Help Me Grow System Model

Help Me Grow Island County has created a local system based on the national and state models, but with a local focus. Our goal is to keep our resource directory easy to use and focused on the needs of Island County families. We want to make sure families can quickly find helpful services and support close to home.

Our system is managed by local Partners for Young Children Island County coordinator, Katie Watkins. Katie lives in Island County, has raised her family here and knows the unique challenges and benefits of our small community.

I believe in surrounding people with community and connection—that no one needs to do this life alone. This especially applies to the first years, where many young families can be overwhelmed by isolation and a web of complex resources.  I am thrilled for the opportunity to help my neighbors on this beautiful home that we have been gifted.”
